Sorry, it's too late to PREVENT global warming. It is already occuring at an accelerated level. We can only stop the use of pollutants which cause serious environmental illness and mutations in humans and animals, the same things that previously accelerated global warming. Here is a quote from a source which does list 3 things in case this helps: " How can we cut global warming pollution?
It's simple: By reducing pollution from vehicles and power plants. Right away, we should put existing technologies for building cleaner cars and more modern electricity generators into widespread use. We can increase our reliance on renewable energy sources such as wind, sun and geothermal. And we can manufacture more efficient appliances and conserve energy."
While it is possible this may reduce future global warming somewhat, it will more likely reduce disease. As to global warming, we need to move people away from the coasts and off low lying islands.

1.Don't watch Al Gores movie "An Inconvenient Truth".
It's based on junk science, a radical socialist political agenda and with no science degree or science background himself it's based on his personel hysteria and a huge amount of misinformation.
2.Seek out people who follow the "scientific method", not scientific concensus.
Concensus is not science but the lack of science. Science is experimentation and, based on the results of those experiments, coming to a conclusion. It is NOT coming to a conclusion and experimenting so that your results will agree with your conclusion no matter how many time you have to change the results. This unfortunalty is the face of the "global warming" crowd. It is a face with a dim view of mankind and our achievements but a consuming view of our failures and inequities.
3.Do your own research.
There is an old saying, "The Truth Shall Set You Free". The TV news media is not a good place to get your information on supposed global warming. Read articles written by REAL climatologists and atmospheric physicists. You will begin to get a much different picture of the climate change debate. That's right I said debate. If you get all your information from TV or Hollywood or even teachers with an agenda, you are only getting one side of the story. Think about this "Inconvenient Fact", the stae of Wisconsin has alternately been a tropical swamp and under a mile high sheet of ice. Nothing on the planet we call Earth EVER stays the same and to think that humans have the ability to change the temperature is the height of arrogance and stupidity.
If you follow these 3 steps you will prevent global warming by coming to the fact based logical conclusion that there is no human caused global warming. That even if there is a slight rise in the earths temperature (if there is it is truly slight) it has happened many times before and will happen many times again before our sun becomes an orange giant and fries the planet earth many millions of years from now. These answers will not get you an "A" unless your teacher has an open mind and believes in the scientific method not scientific propaganda. If your teacher doesn't do so you should begin to question what else are you not being taught.

turn off the sun.. push the earth farther away from the sun.. kill yourself.. make everyone stop breathing oxygen and exhaling co2.. OR Just wait a few years, it is just a phase earth is going through, and it will go into a cooling phase soon enough..
think about; in a hundred years earth's mean annual temprature has gone up 0.7 degrees. If you blame all of it on man, I am glad to have it 0.7 degrees warmer to live in a climate controlled home, drive a comfortable car, eat foods from all over the world, and enjoy relative peace thruout most of earth. What wonderful things have been accomplished, and still certain fools and sociopaths play upon the fears of the neurotic and paranoid.. AND YOU SUCKER FOR IT!!!

Three things the average person can do to help prevent global warming:-
1.Recycling paper can save a few trees.Trees reduce the amount of carbon dioxide(greenhouse gas) in the atmosphere when they use it for photosynthesis.

2.Reduce electricity usage in the home since power plants use fossil fuels to produce electricity.More efficient forms of electricity can be used, such as energy-efficient lighting.

3.Buy a fuel-efficient vehicle, since burning of fuel produces excess carbon dioxide. Also, recycle air conditioning coolant

1. Refrain from having children. Fewer people = lesser demand for resources.
2. Refrain from going anywhere. Less travel = less burned fuel.
3. Dissuade others from going anywhere. Less travel = less fuel burned.

I am not advocating any of these steps, by the way.

Replace your grass with ground covers and vegetables. This will save the emissions caused by your lawnmower, and will reduce the amount of food that has to be shipped across country for you to eat.

Walk, ride your bike, or use public transportation more. (self-explanatory)

Plant a tree.

1.- Use condoms to avoid children.
2.- Don't use the car, to avoid pollution.
3.- Take cold baths, this prevent warming.

this is to involved to narrow down to 3 things
so i am gonna bore you with a lot more
forgive me in advance

this is what do,i have made many Gardens and some parks and planted thousands of trees in my life.
and made a lot of people aware about Nature and educated them
i tell a lot of school kids the story outlined below, and pass this message on to as many as i can like i am doing now to you,

i talk to farmers about organic farming and soil conservation and reforestation and give advice.

here are some nasty details and some solutions in general

in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification

in recent times thousands of people have died because of exessive heat, usually old people.in India ,Mexico and France,
deforestation causing desertification, the desert conditions causing very cold nights and scorching hot days

in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert, the globe where they were got to hot for them .
and instead of producing food they are now needing it from some where else, and they will drastically effect the world food prices when they start buying water in the form of grains ,at any cost destabalising governments, in some countries ,could be the result
(are you seeing more Chinese around interested in agricultural lands ,we do here in Mexico)

,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.

collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,

as far as the food production is concerned, Global warming or some of its effects are serious, rising seas result in landloss

each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

more landloss because of desertification every year,we have less areble land to produce food ,for an extra 70 million people ,

and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,

At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.

SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes, what every school kid can do is plant trees ,where ever and when ever possible ,and we do this in Mexico,

what helps a lot for polution is that if everybody has a little compost heap by the house to take care of all the households organic waste,Organic waste mixed with rubbish is responsible for 70%of all contamination

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´populaion

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

recicling wastes,limit water use
