That depends on the airline. Pan Am's 707's were white with blue. And 707's usually were painted at Boeing's own facilities.

If you have digital cable, watch Discovery WINGS channel, they run the series that used to run on The Discovery Channel...and there was an episode on the Boeing 707.

BTW 707's looked best in Pan Am or American Airlines colors from the 1960's!

The first color of most aircraft before the actual painting is green. This is due to the zinc chromate primer sprayed on to prevent corrosion. If they are finished at the factory where made, they are painted the owner's colors.
If they are finished at custom finishers, which is common for business jets, you may see one flying that is still green.

A 707 is so old, it has likely been every color already. Planes are repainted every few years, and colors change by owner's preference. Mine is black and silver, but my buddy's is white.

Its up to the airline...but boeing painted the brown and yellow - - - sort of like a boston creme donut!

It's pure silver, shiny, aluminum, almost like a mirror - until it is painted. Each airline decides which colors to paint it.

Aluminum until the customer specifies what color to paint it.

2007-02-09 11:32:40 · answer #8 · answered by lowflyer1 5 · 0 0

whatever color the airline wants it to be. either normal airline colors, new airline paint schemes, or a special edition paint scheme. whatever fancies the airline will be that color.

What ever color scheme the customer wants.
We usually paint it for them, but they can fly it elsewhere to be painted.

Whatever color the airline that owns it wants it to be.

They're shipped unpainted, if I recall correctly, so they'd be shiny aluminum, or perhaps white primer (that's more likely, I think).
