My kids do the same thing sometimes. My doctor says that if they get hungry they will eventually eat. In the meantime I recommend that you give your child vitamins. I give my kids the vitamin gummy bears, that way they think that they are getting candy and they eat them with no problem.

And going all night didn't hurt him, did it? Stick to your guns; eventually he will get hungry enough to eat. I make my kids' food and serve it to them; they now know the deal. sometimes they just say "Can I be excused? I don't want this" and they leave the table, knowing they will get nothing else till the next meal, even if that's the next morning. I do NOT hold food over more than one meal, though; if they choose not to eat/finish their healthy breakfast, they get a fresh start at lunch. Don't turn it into a battle of wills, just continue to calmly offer healthy food and shrug your shoulders and dismiss him from the table if he doesn't want to eat it.

You tell him he is not getting up from that spot until he eats his dinner. If he refuses tell, let him sit there until he does. Just leave him and walk away. Don't talk to him. If he gets up, just say "you need to eat" and put him back in the chair. Whatever you do, stay calm. And if it takes all night, then that's fine. Send him to bed. Then do the same the next night. Stick with it and eventually he will give in and eat.

so only offer that all the time-he isnt going to starve himself and you are teaching him that he is in control....tell him that he can have what you offer-or nothing. If he opts for nothing-dont give him anything until the next meal time. This could take a couple times but he will realize and eat what you provide...

Yep I agree with the above answers. Stick to your guns and don't give in. This is what you eat or you get nothing. He will not starve himself! Remember to sometimes offer healthy sweet food too.

Worse comes to worse give him a vitamin to supplement what he is not getting from the food. I'd keep trying. Trust me he'll eat when he gets hungry...a child isn't going to starve themselves.

make his meals look "fun!", you can use star shaped cookie cutters and such, turning celery/pb snacks in to "ants on a log" and making a fruit face by arranging fruits (or veggies) in to the shape of a face. sometimes if it looks fun, it will be more appealing to them
