How much milk should my toddler drink?
Your 1- to 2-year-old child should drink 16 to 24 ounces of whole milk a day. While you'll most likely have to work to make sure that he meets the requirement, keep in mind that it is possible for him to drink too much milk.

If your child drinks more than two to three glasses of milk during the day, he may not have room at dinner for the other foods that he needs to round out his diet. (He needs plenty of iron-rich foods like leafy green vegetables and meat, for example, because milk, unlike formula, does not contain iron.) So if your toddler's thirsty, get him in the habit of drinking water throughout the day, too.

What KIND of milk? Cow's milk? Mom's milk from her breasts? What ELSE is the baby eating? At 12 months of age, most babies are already 'established' and are eating 'food' ... from the 'store bought' baby food sold in jars, to stuff that you can cook and puree at home. Babies who are not 'breast fed' should be given FORMULA ONLY in place of the breast milk, until they turn one year old ... but they should be fed 'other food too' so that when it's a year old, if it is 'eating well' and getting a 'balanced variety of nutritious foods' I'd say that it shouldn't need more than 24-36 ounces of 'milk' per day, given in 4-8 ounces at a feeding.

Hi I have a 9 month old daughter and a 15 month old nephew and our local Health Advisor has said after 9 months they should have at least 1pint a day.

My daughter has breakfast, dilute pop for naptime, lunch/pudding/pop, Milk for afternoon naptime, tea/pudding/pop and then Milk for supper and sometimes in the night if she wakes up. I still use SMA Gold but my nephew has follow on Milk.

Hope this helps....Im just trying to get my daughter onto lumpier foods...any tips? lol
