there are rumors going around my school that the boy i asked to Sadie Hawkins, who, might i add, said yes, might only be going with me because he couldn't get anyone else and that he really doesn't like me. Should i confront him? Or would that just be way too awkward?

who cares what other people are saying?

you asked him out for a reason, right? presumably because you like him. If he said yes, enjoy the date, and take it from there.

I'm not sure if you call that a pity date? It's more like a last resort. If it were me. I'd go with him and try to have the best time I could have. You may want to let him know that you're not expecting a romance you only want to have a good time. Tell him it's a no pressure date. If anything you hope to make a good friend by the end of the night. This might lighten the situation and keep you and him from being disappointed. If you both have other good friends going too, neither of you have to spend the whole night together. You can mention that to him. Only if you're comfortable knowing he (may) take that as a chance to ditch you all together. Still if it were me. I'd just go and have a great time. Try to make it the best night both of you can have together. So even if it is true, he can't say he wished he'd never done it. He will have to admit he had a good time regardless of his intentions.

isn't it the women that put the love into the men?

guys will like anyone that give them the right [and amount of] attention

girls (after they're done "having fun") will actually know what they're looking for

rumors? who cares
