I actually have two cats of my own and work part time at petco, and i'm thinking two things. Cat's don't like leaving the house at all cause that's their comfort zone, and your cat may just need a few days to get back to feel comfortable and relaxed. Or he may have had a bad reaction to the shampoo or whatever chemicals they used, and it may have caused some sort of irritation or stomach problem (causing the not eating). I would give it a day or two, and if it doesn't stop, you should probably take the poor guy to the vet he may be sick. Good luck, feel free to email me if you have anymore questions-chris(canewyorker@yahoo.com).

I think your cat was stressed by being groomed by total strangers and ina totally strange environment. Constant licking is one way that cats deal with anxiety and stress. Poor kitty. While some cats can handle being groomed by total strabgers, most cats don't react too well with this kind of pampering. I know you meant well by taking kitty to be groomed... but now that you kow she gets "antsy" about it, I think its best that you do the grooming yourself. Most cast do not need to be bathed unless they become too dirty for self-grooming. All you need to do is brush her fur regularly, clip her nails every other week or so, wipe her down when her fur seems dusty; clean her ears and brush her teeth at least twice a week.

WOW Sorry, but i have 3 cats, which I bathe all of them every 3 /4 months.. i dry and comb their hair as well....I clip their nails every 10 days... I will never consider taking my indoor cats out for a bath an nails! enough stress they get from the water and all the pressure of trying to put them down for a bath!

My advice, do it at home, it's no better than you to know your animals!
