I have been to the doctor and they are keeping me on watch meaning that if a bleed any more than I already have then I must go strait to the ER. But, I am still a little lost I don't really know what a low hemoglobin means. If any body can give me a little more information I would be very greatful.

Thank you
Candice

Hemoglobin is an iron-rich protein in red blood cells. Low hemoglobin is another way of describing a low red blood cell count (anemia). Anemia can have many causes, including:

Vitamin and iron deficiencies
Acute or chronic bleeding
Hormone deficiencies, such as thyroid hormone or testosterone
Chronic diseases, such as kidney failure, cancer and Crohn's disease
Autoimmune diseases, such as lupus
Side effect of certain medications, such as chemotherapy drugs
Treatment depends on the underlying cause.
So, your doctor needs to be doing tests to find out why your hemoglobin is low, not just watching you to treat it if you should happen to start bleeding.

Hb is haemoglobin, you red cells in the blood which carry oxygen molecules and are transported to the body organs. Therefore it is very important that you hb is greater than 13 if male and 10-12if female. You should bring healthy eating like green vegetables, fruits etc., Spinach is very good to increase Hb. Various suppliments are available over the counter these days but still you shouls ask the professional. I hope things will work out soon. See you doctor on regular basis. If you are female see your Gynaecologist.

With a hemoglobin level of 6.7 your doctor should be thinking about transfusion. This is dangerously low.
