Chocolate chip cookies
Recipe:

1 cup (2 sticks) (226 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

3/4 cup (150 grams) granulated white sugar

3/4 cup (160 grams) firmly packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

3 cups (420 grams) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups (270 grams) semisweet chocolate chips

Note: Can add 1 cup of toasted and chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts).

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C) with rack in center of oven. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.

In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), cream the butter. Add the white and brown sugars and beat until fluffy (about 2 minutes). Beat in eggs, one at a time, making sure to beat well after each addition. Add the vanilla and beat until incorporated.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and beat until incorporated, adding the chocolate chips about half way through mixing. If you find the dough very soft, cover and refrigerate until firm (about 30 minutes).

For large cookies, use about a 2 tablespoon ice cream scoop or with two spoons, drop about 2 tablespoons of dough (35 grams) onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake about 12 - 14 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges. Cool completely on wire rack.

Makes about 4 dozen - 3 inch round cookies

Note: You can freeze this dough. Form the dough into balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Freeze and then place the balls of dough in a plastic bag, seal, and freeze. When baking, simply place the frozen balls of dough on a baking sheet and bake as directed - may have to increase baking time a few minutes.

Buy pre-made dough at the super market (Pillsbury makes a great one in a tube), spread it out on a cookie sheet (cover the cookie sheet with aluminum foil), and cut into heart shapes or use a heart-shaped cookie cutter.

Pre-made dough is much easier than buying the ingredients yourself, esp if you don't cook often enough to finish the rest of the stuff.

Find a sugar cookie recipe. (Not like a chocolate chip one, those will be too gloppy). Roll out the dough, and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Put on a sheet pan and bake according to the recipe instructions.

Good luck, I suck at making cookies.

Get a sugar cookie recipe and a heart shaped cookie cutter. Roll out sugar cookie dough and cut out designs with cookie cutter. Put dough on cookie sheet and bake in the oven.

Just do the same thing with chocolate chip cookie dough. Put the dough in the fridge for a couple of hours to firm it up first before rolling it out.

Follow a recipe to make the cookie dough. You'll need heart shaped cookie cutters btw. If I remember correctly, sugar cookies work best for what you're aiming for.

they are baked. i'd suggest getting a roll of pre-made sugar cookie dough, rolling it out and cutting it with a heart shaped cookie cutter. Sprinkle with red sugar. Bake according to directions on the package.

cookies aren't cooked, they are baked. Throw prepared cookie dough into the oven and let the oven take care of it.

You follow a recipe, and then you "bake" the cookies once youve cut them out.
