I was eating at lunch, and I came back (about 45 minutes after eating) and noticed that there was something stuck in my throat. And it wasn't like..mucus. So I coughed it up, and it was this small yellow spherical thing...that smelled kinda bad and was mushy.

Lol, I dont mean to gross anyone out...but I was just like, what the hell is this? Does anyone know? It had to have come from my gi tract somewhere.

They're called tonsil stones, or tonsoliths. They happen because sometimes particles of food and bacteria get caught in the crevices of your tonsils (some have pretty deep crevices). They work their way out every now and then, like you described. Not everyone has the fun privelidge to experience tonsil stones, but quite a few people have them. They can be a problem especially for those who've had lots of throat infections through their life, or a particularly bad infection at some point. The're a nusiance more than anything, the usually don't cause problems. Your body takes care of them in its own way. Do a search online to find out more!

guess what? it IS mucous. Sometimes the stuff catches behind our tonsils or sometimes behind our vocal chords, it dries and condenses and that's what it looks like when you finally cough it up. It smells because it has rotting particles of food in it.
Prevent such occurences by drinking adequate amounts of water on a daily basis. At the very least 2 liters every 24 hours.

I know what you are talking about , but I really don't know the name or why it is there. It comes from the back of your throat, when you make hard suction in the back of your mouth. But it is natural, nothing to worry about and you will occasionally bring these little smelly things up you whole lifetime, but usually only if you make a conscious effert to bring some up.

Could it have been a seed from a piece of okra?
That's what it sounds like from your description.

What were you eating? That could have had something to do with it.
