Bitter Apple will not stain furniture or upholstery. Put that on your furniture, leashes, or anything else puppy tries to chew. Also, try to keep the puppy confined to small areas of the house so you can watch him.

Have you given him lots of chewies, rawhide?? Try a Kong toy to keep him busy and stuff it with treats. He sounds like he's bored.

i had the same problem with my dog. except he didn't chew on the furniture he would chew on everything else but the furniture. u can either put the dog in the kennel when u r gone. block it into one room(that doesn't have the furniture that the dog chews on). or u can go to any pet store and get this bitter apple stuff. spray that on the furniture and anything else that gets chewed on. trust me this stuff works. they don't like the smell or how it tastes. my friend had a problem with her puppy to. her mom got this bitter apple stuff and the problem she had was the puppy chewing on the hands and everything else. so when she would go to bit someones hand she backed off cuz she didn't like it at all. well good luck with ur puppy!!

p.s. the bitter apple stuff shouldn't stain ur furniture at all.

Get a plasic spray bottle. Put a whole bottle of Habanero Pepper
World's Hottest Hot Sauce and the juice of 3 limes into the spray bottle. Add water till the bottle is half full. Shake it up. Spray it on
where he chews. (Later Woolite upholstery cleaner should get out any stains.) About a week of this should solve the chewie problem.

My 10month old Boxer/Staff chewed everything, but only when i left her. We now keep her in the hallway when we go out. It's safe & secure & she has her blanket. I also take her out for a walk before i leave to wear her out. For Chloe it was insecurity & boredom. Insecurity because she had been left in a house on her own for 7 days at 7 wks old ( I got her at 3 months) and boredom because she had too much energy. Initially i sprayed everything with a fine mist of water & then painted pepper on it. Once she bit it the pepper would taste awful, which helped. Then i borrowed a bike & used to ride round the block 3 times with her running flat out next to me. Between the pepper & the exercise she was too worn out & fell asleep, but when she woke up the only things available to chew tasted nasty. I have to sand down & repaint our bannisters, but she hasn't chewed anything in the last 2 months. So this does work. Good luck.

Bitter apples is nasty tasting stuff that you can buy at most pet stores. You spray it on things you don't want your pet to chew but never spray it on the dog Try it. Good Luck

I have one also.... and he would chew on my chair legs....you really do need to catch him in the act and roll up newspaper and swat him ( to scare him and get attention )and scold him......tell him THATS BAD! ....I got mine a 3 foot chew rope and he thinks he is the king with that
they do get the point after a few times.....
