I need help with an eating disorder and have been to 4 different counselors. I didn't like any of them. How do I go about being more accepting of them or finding a good one? I have asked for recommendations and don't feel like I've "clicked" with any of them.

Hi. You have to keep trying. Believe me, when you find the "right" one, you will know it. It might take some time, but don't give up.

Perhaps just chose from your insurance list or phone book and call them to make sure they specialize in eating disorders. Then go from there.

Before I found my therapist, I visited 6 and did not like any of them! Some I did not like right away (office color, etc) and others I knew once they talked to me that I could NEVER work with them. But eventually I found one.

It's really a crap-shoot.

Good Luck!
