Cheating is a lie and deceit. If you do something that is against what you and your partner have decided is over the line with another person, it is cheating. So cheating is deceiving your partner with another person. It depends what your couple feels is over the line.

I personally think that if someone considers hugging or hanging out with someone of the opposite sex (or same sex, whatever floats your boat) cheating, then they're being way too anal.
Generally things like kissing, making out, sex, etc. are considered cheating. It is certainly not limited to just sex.
However, while the above is usually the case, each couple needs to set their own standard. I know a couple who don't consider making out with others as cheating.

generally. But if you and your partner haven't had sex, then it counts for kissing and the other 1. If you haven't kissed, then holding hands and the other 2. I count all of the above as cheating, but I'm very fair when someone does cheat on me. If they tell me right away, they stay, if they don't, they don't. There are a lot of different rules for cheating, but usually it refers to sex. Got it?

I would say it means anything that you don't want your mate to know you are doing with another person. When someone says "she cheated on me" it usually means sex in most cases. I read a survey about cheating once and it said that 45% of all people are sexually unfaithful, which means they cheat. In many cases its the people that seem unlikely to cheat that do all the cheating.

Cheating is basically being unfaithful to your signficant other. Exactly what constitutes as cheating is up to your morals and values, but most would consider the following cheating:
Sexual Intercourse
Sexual acts of any kind
Kissing on lips
Some may even consider the following being unfaithful:
Flirting
Kissing of any kind
Prolonged hugging
Intimate discussion
When people say "she cheated on me" it usually means sex.

Most people would define cheating as your significant other having a relationship with someone other then themselves. It could have nothing to do with intimate relations, just a intimacy that is not shared between the cheater and the original non-cheating person.

The definition of cheating is :
To violate rules or to practice fraud, trickery or deception, to be dishonest.
Therefore, anytime you are in a relationship where you are exclusively, romantically involved with another person. Any type of attention or affection that the two of you share is shared with someone outside of that relationship is cheating.

Cheating is if you cross the line over sexual boundaries, things that are reserved for you and your mate, this may include kissing, slow dancing, etc. Plain and simple if he or she isn't do those actions with everyone and reserved just for you, then it is cheating on you.

I think it's cheating if you go on a date with someone not your spouse, or kiss or hug them in a romantic way (as opposed to a greeting).
