why is it hard for a guy and a gurl to be friends?

Because it ALWAYS turns into more. My mom told me that when I was young, I didn't believe her and now I realize as I'm leaving my teenage years, that she was sooo right!

Fundamentally, we think different. Men are logical and exploring by nature. We like to fix things, provide for the woman. We like the hunt, and we are attracted to things through visual stimulation. Women are more nurturing, emotional beings. The need tenderness and supportive love. An understanding ear, a shoulder to cry on, not always a solution. If a guy is physically attracted to a woman it may be difficult for him to not want to see that person naked / be with that person physically. And that isn't the basis of a real friendship. In turn, a woman might want the guy to just hold her if she is upset, listen to her POV. Guys want to make it better for the girl, so he will try to find the solution or the way to look at the issue that makes it ok. That works sometimes, but not always.

Its not. Having friends of different sexes is good. Sometimes a female needs a mans opinion and a man needs a womens. But truth is men and women are different, women tend to be to discuss things and know when another women just needs to listen, where men try to fix things, when women feel bad they can cry to other females where a man would run the other way. Men get together with other friends to hunt, fish, talk about women and or sex and drink.
