Tell him that if he died tomorrow, could he take the stuff with him? the answer is NO, when you die thats it, stuff is gone and so are you, so what is the meaning of loving stuff more than a person, if the wife died would he still want all the stuff? Sell the stuff and live and love the person most important in your life, family and friends. Life is too short to put material ownership on stuff, because you can't put a price on the love of your life or the life or your child? this could be something related to childhood. If he had nothing as a child this could mean that he has an attachment to stuff, but he has to realise that stuff doesn't make a person come back to life!!!!!! Take care Heather

He is obviously very selfish. If he doesn't want to sell all this stuff that is just sitting around, he certainly could consider other ways to make more money (work hard and try to get a raise, get a part time job).
