lucky you! american bulldogs are great! they are big and high energy, so you need to be prepared to get him a LOT of exercise! if you can, take him to obedience class (doesn't matter how old he is, many places offer classes for adult dogs.) taking him to class and training him will help him bond with you. it might take him a while to get used to his new home, and having you as his new owner, but dogs are very adaptable, and he will definitely accept and love you too!

I love American Bulldogs, and i really with i was in your position. American Bulldogs are such big loving dogs. I can't tell you whether or not they are easy to train, but when you get him, if you would like him to be more obedient you can always take him to obedience classes. And he will learn soon that you are his new master, and he will adore you and obey you, just as he does your friend. Good Luck!!

Yes, it is easy to win over a dogs affection. Make sure that your state (if you friend is from another state) allows to have bulldogs - some don't right now. In addition, some cities don't. Just double check before you are fined and the puppy is terminated. Good Luck! Have fun with the new little one. Give lots of affection!

Well its good that you are trying to find out information before getting your new friend. It sound like you will be a good doggy owner.

All dogs are different, even if he is already trained it will be a good idea to take him to a obedience class so he can learn that you are the new pack leader.

It will take a little while of course he will miss his old buddy, but you guys will have a great time together.

He's emigrating, not immigrating. Yes, if you are kind to the dog, he will adore you.
