I scrubbed it with dish liquid and water, then put on borax laundry soap and vacuumed that out then put on some ALL fabric refresher and none of that helped and it smells terrible. It was done by a nonneutered male cat. Any suggestions? Other than kill the cat which is what I feel like doing, instead I kicked him outside.

Tea Tree oil works for the scent... Buy it @ any GNC or health foods store, and pour about a half bottle (1/2 oz.) in a spray bottle (one about the size of a windex bottle) and spray away. It gets rid of the smell, bacteria, and also deters the animal from wanting to go back.

You can never spray too much as it will not do any harm to your fabrics.

Hope this was of some help!

Also... dish liquid is a major dirt attractor. After it dries in your carpet, it attracts all sorts of dirt and debris making that spot in your carpet more visible.... make sure you get rid off all residue from the dish soap.

Poor kitty! Unfortunately, you'll have to rip up the carpet and the padding beneath to completely get rid of the smell. My friend owns show cats and spent a lot of money on a male cat (had him flown to NY from England) that sprayed all over her house. She had to get rid of him AND the carpets.

I would go to your local pet supply and purchase some Nature's Miracle, they also make on specifically for cat urine. Read the instructions fully. Please note that the product is made to break down the urine enzymatically, so you will smell the smell off and on until the product is finsihed working. Good Luck-been there.

Resolve carpet cleaner works better than anything we've tried. Just spray it on the kitty spray and let it sit a minute, then rub it up w/ a dry cloth!

go to your local pet store or if you have a farm and fleet, some kind of hardware or animal store, big R and they have a concentrate made especially for cats and one for dogs to remove urine. it work wonders on urine, i use to use it for my dog. it also comes in a spray bottle. its real easy to make and its not very messy to clean up. its a very strong liquid and it doesn't harm animals, carpet, hardwood floors, or upholstery. i cant remember the name sorry but its not hard to find.

there is extremely no thanks to get the scent out. you may attempt vinegar or tomatoe juice yet that ought to leave a higher mess i ought to write off the carpet and the upolestry, prepare the cat to apply the clutter field. If he's not nuetered i ought to get that finished, they say that a nuetered cat doen't spray.

Animal urine will soak through the carpet and into the pad. You'll never get rid of it until you replace the carpet AND the pad.
