Sorry first, I just want to learn English,my bad English, my god. no other meaning. because almostly every English word has several meanings, and sometime, it is really not easy to remember all the meanings! And i don't understand how you guys can remember very well!

E.g. I found this weired thing in the uni forum. A comic thing is gossiped between students about gross lecturers in uni shagging in the toilet.
but i checked on the internet, shag means below:
shag (HAVE SEX)
shag (LONG THREADS)
shag (BIRD)
shag (EFFORT)

that is unbelievable. so in this circumstance, shag means having sex?is it formal word or a slang word? offensive?

shag is colloquial for sex. Its not offensive, just a little vulgar!

shag in the sex definition is slang for it. Hoewever for me I do not find it offensive. It is usually used in conversations with teenagers in the US. You don't usually hear adults use it in formal conversations.

Also shag is a type of carpet used in the 1960's for rooms in the house and they also covered the bag of vans with it as well. So they would shag on the shag (if that makes any sense)

As for the comic with the uni shagging, i'm not really sure what it means. I'm sure that it is some type of sexual inuendo/topic. I have just never heard of it.

It is a slang word, and yes, it means to have sex. It could be offensive to some people, but it might not be offensive to other people.
