There is nothing in the scriptures that confirms or denies life on other worlds. That said lets look at the idea through logic.
Earth in a small dot of duct out the outside fringe of the MilkyWay. Our world is small as planets go and out sun the Star we call Sol is not a remarkable star. There is/was no reason why an intelligent extraterrestrial would look here. We have been radiating RF into the universe for just over 100 years. That only 100 light years of distance. The nearest star is about 5 light years away. The chances that life is there is 1in 1X10 11th power. This isn't looking to promising. I would believe first that our Government has equipment they won't tell us about I think that is more likely... Jim

While I'm an atheist, I cant really see how you could come to the conclusion that "he couldn't have create e.t's if they look different from us.". After all, we share this world with life forms that look totally different from ourselves, and the Bible is quite specific in stating that god created them. Also, the Bible makes no mention of things like bacteria and viruses, but most Christians would have to admit that they do indeed exist, even if they are nowhere to be found in Biblical text. The Vatican is simply recognising that sometimes "Biblical truth" must concede to reality. It's simply too improbable that in this vast universe, this is the only planet where life exists. The average person may not fully realise the extent of just how large the universe really is, but an astronomer would undoubtedly be aware. Just to give you an idea: This solar system (the sun and the planets that revolves around it) is only one of billions within the Milky Way galaxy. This galaxy is only one of over 200 Billion galaxies that are observable in the night sky. Anyone, especially an astronomer, when faced with those numbers would probably think that to assume that this is the only planet with life on it is a very grand assumption indeed. I'm not sure how this would actually affect traditional Christian views, but I do think that it's a good thing to accept reality, rather than ignore it.

I am a very devout Christian I don't believe that God created aliens but I do believe the He created many planets, not just ours, that he has populated with his children just like us. Why do I say that he did not create aliens? Because nobody is an alien on his own planet. And no one is an alien to God although many of us alienate ourselves from God, in which case we are our own self made aliens.

I don't know anywhere in the Bible that says there there is no life on other planets.

No, He did not. Aliens don't exist. God didn't create them because there was no reason to create them. If by you mean Christian God, there is only one God and yes, He is the Holy Christian God. I am a Christian and I love God. Did you know that God is ALWAYS watching you?!

God himself is an alien, his angels and devils are all aliens because they did not originate here on earth. Some of us are children of these beings because they mixed in with us. Gen-6:1-4.

Willie says that there are no aliens because god didn't create them ... because there was no need to create them. The fact that there was no need for them is your opinion. Personally, I don't see a need for blowfish ... but to you, god created them anyway.

My question to Willie is ... if god didn't create intelligent life on other planets, why would he feel the need to create bacteria and other one-celled organisms that exist on comets and other planets but not on earth? What was the "need" for that???

I love the christian point of view -- if its not in the bible, it didn't happen. They never think that their god might do something and not tell them about it. LMAO

How can christians have an official view on something if they can't even come up with how to make a stable doctrine?

There is nothing in the Scriptures that either denies or affirms the existence of ET's, so I would say this is one that is best left open for further evidence before accepting them as real. It's a big universe.

The Bible doesn't really address it directly although it does say he made the stars, so alien life at those stars would be made by Him I suppose. This whole "it's of the devil" is the interpretation of some people.
