I was raised Nazarene.
Yes, someone can loose their salvation.
Salvation is a free gift. However, if you choose not to accept and follow Jesus...you are giving up your salvation.
I now attend a non-denominational church.
What's most important is that a church follows the teachings of Jesus and the living God.
In His Service,

I'm sorry you didn't receive a full answer from the Nazarene church. I don't attend that church, but I am a Christian. The Bible is clear that you cannot lose salvation. It is a gift that cannot be earned. When the word talks about "falling away" it is when "half-Christians" are being addressed. These are people that confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, but their hearts are far from Him. I person is saved when they have received the Holy Spirit. That is when God's truth is revealed to a faithful and true believer. God knows the heart and mind and He is clear that we should not "cast pearls before swine." Why would he do this? Reveal His truth to someone He knows will "fall away" and who will reject Him later. He wouldn't and He doesn't.
Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
We are saved as a result of grace because of faith. Works come as a result of being saved, not to get saved. We do good works because we are led by the Holy Spirit to do things pleasing to Him.

Saved by grace, but an Arminian kind of grace that requires you to do the choosing of God rather than the other way around. If they defined acceptance as works, then they would not believe the way they do.

Here's my feeling: If somebody "falls from grace" I think they were never really there to begin with. Many people get caught up in a moment but really don't strive to turn their life around. We are saved by Grace, not Works. Not even baptism alone can save us from the fires of Hell, only the blood of Jesus.

We believe in Arminianism (you can look up info. about it) We believe that it is possible to walk away from the Lord and we are not saved by works.(just because you do good works doesn't make you a Christian) We are saved by grace, and the book of Romans says that we are justified by faith.

When I was an xian, it was believed you can loose your salvation by sinning. (You have to keep "begging" for forgiveness.) And they also have a little saying in the "buy bull".."The road to hell is paved with good intentions". So the "works" thing don't get you the golden ticket, either.
