If it is prescored just use a meat cleaver and the Tenderizer as a hammer to tap it open. Don't bang away with a fury or you will ruin the blade, the tenderizer and the coconut. A few sharp blows usually does the trick just fine.

that's the main hassle-free technique used via people who certainly be conscious of what they're doing. All you like is a heavy knife like a meat cleaver or machete. Set out a bowl you could crack the coconut over so which you will seize the juice whilst the nut splits. seem on the coconuts eyes and locate the seam that runs between them. save on with that seam to the middle or "equator" of the coconut. carry the coconut in a single hand with the equator on your palm, the eyes dealing with to one area. With the blunt edge of the knife (no longer the blade), firmly faucet around the equator, turning the coconut as you flow. save tapping and turning till the coconut splits open. it is going to in all probability take 2 or 3 turns, yet once you do it appropriate, you will need 2 equivalent halves. in simple terms notice that coconuts tend to crack open and then snap such lower back, so determine you are not getting your arms caught interior the crack.
