Well if you live in Britain just join the military and go to Iraq. If the war doesn't get you American friendly fire sure enough will. Also they will be happy to aid you in killing yourself.

Actually I thought that was a very good question although a lot of people just don't get it. I mean, do they ever think about what kind of shape they'd be in if the suicide failed? There was a TV show on about failed suicides. One guy put a gun to his head and now he has permanent brain damage so his suicide attempt failed.
I do think people should have a right to live or die. Just think of the crime it would get rid of!
With doctors now being able to raise the dead, its a real ego trip to bring the dead back to life but they rarely think of what the patient has to go through. Killing animals in severe pain is often done so why are humans weird when it comes to their own deaths? Is it just a fear of death? Wouldn't people also have a fear of living? Wouldn't that be just as valid a question?
The first step is to see a doctor about your condition and if nothing can be done to improve your quality of life, then it may be time to think of euthanasia. You did not state if this relates to a long term condition that would make you want to hang yourself or whether its just a curiousity question.
But to answer the questions with a question, if you did have brain damage would you be in any condition to request euthanasia? If you would not be able to ask for euthanasia then your question is a mute point.

That question is for someone considering a way out and finding the easiest and least painful method.
Suicide is not to be taken likely by anyone and when someone asks a question like this its not to be made mockery of.
If you tried and failed and became brain damaged, you would not be mentally capable of making decisions for yourself anymore and someone else would make that decision for you. Euthanasia is not an option in many countries and anyone left to deal with you if you became in a vegetated state, it would be their life you take with you because they will be the ones looking after you and not being able to lead their life to the full.
If you feel this way then you need to find someone to talk too and address whats causing you to feel so unhappy you would even consider suicide. Suicide is not weak people who are already brain dead, suicide becomes an option to those who feel there is no other way to deal with a problem or so isolated they have no one to turn too.
I knew one young girl aged 18 who had been so severely abused she went and walked in front of a train. She didnt do it because she was dumb, thick or deranged in anyway. She done it because she was unhappy so when people post comments they should consider what would drive a person to feel so unhappy they would want to do something like that to themselves.

There is an old adage that goes (paraphrasing slightly) along the lines of:
"better to have tried and failed, than never to have tried at all."
However this is one instance where, perhaps, the received wisdom is best ignored. Your travel to euthanise yourself will be considerably aided by the absence of brain damage. Suggest therefore don't hang self. Money saved on rope could be put toward cost of cheap flight or train ticket.
Unless sectioned you will be free to travel.
Rest assured that there are many tortured souls, when it's your time, you will not be spared the cull.

If u ended up with brain damage, would u be able to think clearly and rationally enough. Also would you b able to express the wishes and views? I thought euthanasia was legal to those with terminal illness and they are very strict on what constitutes that.

If you fail and end up with brain damage you may not have enough brain cells left to decide which country to go to,your far better not hanging yourself, for one,it bloody hurts like hell,and if you try it your eyeballs some times explode and that would leave you blind,this in turn would seriously curtail your next attempt at hanging your self.For instance,you wouldn`t be able to judge the length of rope required,and if the rope is too long and you jumped all you would do is break your ankles and be in extreme pain .Best just stop alive its easier.

If your brain damaged you probably wont be in a state to be able to make any decisions or do much let alone going to a place with a lethal injection.

If you hang yourself, you will have a horrible death. It is not quick when you do it yourself. You will have blood pouring from your eyes, ears and mouth and you will lose control of your bowels and empty yourself over the floor. Your face will turn purple and red. Your relatives might have to deal with this horror.
If they find you and cut you down, you will likely have brain damage caused by lack of blood and oxygen to the brain. Why the hell are we even talking about this?
Why not just go to the country you refer to and have the injection to start with?
Better still, phone The Samaritans and talk to somebody.

You should probably just try euthanasia from the start - hanging yourself is kinda risky. Do what the Alchemist suggested - go to that one group, if it exists. Unless you know how to turn yourself into a permanent vegetable - your family has to give up eventually.
Oh, and all you morons who are calling the question-poster stupid, get a life. You know nothing about what you're saying and you calling them stupid won't solve a thing. So shut up and go back to your effing perfect lives.

Just don't hang yourself. Suicide's for quitters. Just go to another country and stay there, Britain's a horrible place these days.
