If I were working in different states / countries, what publication will tell me exactly what is required for a day to be considered working (e.g. 4 hours / in office)? Please include link in response. Thanks

You'd probably get better answers if you explain just what you are looking for and for what country or state. If you add what you want to use the info for, would be even easier to answer.

For the US in general, you might find some info at dol.gov - that's the department of labor website.

For me it's as simple as: bang head against wall 100 times. Ahh another day.. another dollar..

It depends on what country you're in!
