I have thought of things. In the Middle East there are less abortions, gays and crime because of Islam. There are less divorces because of Islam. There are less rapes because of Islam. I have been thinking of converting. I could not understand the trinity but could understand Islam plus I am part Palestinian so Islam would be compatible with me. Should I convert? I love to shout Allahu Akbar to the tops of my lungs and saying Islamic phrases alone makes me happy

Please write to me, I would love to help you get answers to any questions that you may have about Islam. Islam is the right choice, I agree with those who say, become a Muslim and not a terrorist, this is Islam. I agree that Islam helps prevent a lot of social disasters of western world that you have mentioned up here. peace to you, haseeb_khwaja3738@yahoo.com

What you are saying is only partially true, but mostly skewed thinking.
A lot of what you say about "less abortions, gays, and crime" are the very reasons why fundamentalist Islam wants to erradicate the west. They see us as a debased people.
You then say that you cannot understand the Trinity, but can you understand how Muhammed said that Allah had daughters and they were goddesses, but then he said that Satan had tempted him and he had those verses (The Satanic Verses) abrogated? Can you understand how Muhammed's father was the keeper of the Ka'ba that shrined over 300 idols, of which Allah was said to be one, and that Muhammed later took over the region and being heavily influenced by Jewish and Christian writings then claimed that Allah was the only god (besides his 3 daughters) and that all the other idols should be destroyed? Can you understand how Muhammed originaly said that Christians and Jews were to be treated with respect, but as he grew in power militarily, and after Jewish and Christiand scholars soundly refuted his new teachings he then said that they were to pay the Jiza tax, or that they should be beheaded and war should be made against them.
I mean if you can understand that madness then you can understand far more than I can.
But there is one other thing you should realize, currently you have the right to convert to the religion of your choice, but once you convert to the fundamentalist Islam you mention, you will have abandoned all of your rights to converrt, (not to mention a large portion of your civil rights as well), and if you suddenly decide that you don't like shouting Allah Akbar at the top of your lungs anymore and you decide you want to convert to another religion you will soon find youself without a head.

If you are thinking of becoming a Muslim that is fine good luck to you. But why "extreme" what is it you think in our faith is "extreme". I am a Muslim and worship Allah following the Quran and Sunnah there is nothing "extreme" about that. Muslims are not perfect and neither are Muslim countries. Don't get me wrong there is less divorce, rape, crime, abortions etc. I dont go around shouting Allahu Akbar either, i say it yes but when it is to glorify anything good about Allah. Islam is a wonderful and beautiful religion if you are thinking of reverting study, gain more knowledge, do it with a true heart and good intentions. After all Allah is all seeing and all knowing and knows your intentions. Insha Allah you gain more knowledge.

PS to the idiots above rape is punishable by death, that is how much women are respected, not 2 years in jail out in one for good behaviour. And I drive a car, how stupid some people are.

Do you know who St Thomas Aquinas is ?

Nature of the Trinity
Aquinas argued that God, while perfectly united, is also perfectly described by three interrelated persons. These three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) are constituted by their relations within the essence of God. The Father generates the Son (or the Word) by the relation of self-awareness. This eternal generation then produces an eternal Spirit "who enjoys the divine nature as the Love of God, the Love of the Father for the Word."

This Trinity does not exist in separation from the world. On the contrary, the Trinity serves to communicate God's self and God's goodness to human beings. This takes place through the Incarnation of the Word in the person of Jesus Christ and through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (indeed, the very essence of the Trinity itself) within those who have experienced salvation by God

Being a girl you are asking for a life of no human rights what so ever. Rape happens all the time in Islamic nations, just read the news. Oh and check out what people like Sadam Hussein do for fun. Nothing of what you said about Islam could be further from the truth except possibly the divorce part but that's because when you get married you become your husband's property. You have not right to divorce.

I agree with you on the traditional views of the Trinity. That all confuses me as well and I don't see and Biblical support for it.

Fine by me, but the thinking behind some of your reasons is flawed. The only reason to do it is because you want to.

There are less Islamic rape statistics because there are less reported because YOU are guilty if you are raped. You defend yourself in an Islamic country against a rape and are charged with murder. It has happened.

Less divorce, a woman can't divorce and why would a man want to? If he wants another woman he can have another wife.

Muslims dont rape? LOL - Okay not every single one of them rape and stuff - but a good many men in the Middle East beat and rape their women.

If a woman is raped (sexual act against her will) she is treated as if she invited the rape UNLES THREE MEN testify that they saw the rape. In which case, rapes are never done in full view of witnesses that are men.

So yes - if you call that equality - then go over there, and join them. Blow yourself up for a dead man named Muhammad who cant offer you eternal life or anything else.., because he's dead. Did I say he's dead?

And did I tell you terrorists end up dead too? Oh the glory of being dead. Were you rot and no one remembers you after a few months. Oh - and dont be surprised if Homeland Security pays you a visit. They dont take enemies of America and our Allies very lightly.

I really doubt that you should base your decision on statistics. BUT...you said that "saying Islamic phrases alone makes me happy", that is a sign of Allah's guidance. follow it.

Well if you do, you'll have to go through some corny rules and regulations, like on your wedding night, the husband recites a proclamation to his bride while grasping her hair upon entering her for the first time.
