My refund was supposed to be deposited today and i have called IRS, HSBC and anyone else i could get and everyone is saying that it is scheduled for today but it can take up to 72hours. I understand that part but is it a chance that it could happen tomorrow (the weekend)?

I'm in the same boat. I talked to a rep at HSBC and after I gave her my social she said that it was being released to my bank but takes up to 3 business days. I asked her if today would count as one of those days and she said that Monday it would start. The automated number for HSBC to check if it was released is 800-524-0628 and to talk to someone it's 800-228-0528.

No US financial institution posts ANYTHING on weekends. The may choose to make the funds available on the weekend, but they ALWAYS post on business days and weekends are never business days.

I don't think so. It will only go in on a business day.
