Years ago they had great beach resorts at low prices. With political unrest most closed down, but I noticed some airlines are now starting flights to Haiti again. Are there any nice beach resorts open again?

Hi :

Haiti doesn't have beach resorts like other counties.
It had Club Med , but that closed down.

There are several Hotels that are on the Northern Coast near Mont Rouis, and there's the town of Jacmel that is worth going.
Haiti is for the independant traveller, and despite the news , the hotels on the beach are pretty safe .
There's a place called Morgan's resort on the south coast.
I would recommend that you contact :
Jacqui Labrom , a British travel agent based in Haiti, she's excellellent and reliable.

Her email is :

My brother in law had to go for work a few months ago. He said the situation wasn´t pretty. You should do some more research before deciding on going. Even if there are some nice resorts on the island, the political instability and incredible poverty make it a high risk destination.

Happy travels.......

No, I haven't been there, and I'd avoid since the riots there are pretty nasty.
