Actually, I had this discussion with a friend other day. LOL can mean ( we deducted):
thought it was funny
laughing on the inside
smiling and typing at the same time

We also decided it meant, "take this with a sense of humor so you don't get mad or take it the wrong way, ok"

On those times when I read something that truly makes me laugh out loud, I will type: ROFLOL, OMgoodness, that is hilarious, I have tears, or LMBU (I try not to use the "a" word)
LOL!!!!!
I do like LTM, that's new to me
and I think the world would be a much better place if there was more giggling around the world.

Of course not.
"lol" is what you say when there's nothing to say.
If everyone actually laughed when they wrote lol, there would be incessant giggling in the world.

no, I think most time you laugh inside...I think LMAO means you laugh out loud

not at all, most of the time I use it when someone sent a really stupid joke and I don't want to hurt there feelings.

omg i'm so embarrassed i thought LOL meant lots of lunchmeat. that's why i always type it when i'm making sandwiches.
