Talk to him again and see if he's busy . U guys can hang out together but if ur too shy to be alone with him at first make it sound like a group thing when u get a bunch of ur and his friends and hang out . Then c where it goes from there.

talk to him, ask him if he wants to do something at the weekend, if he says no or he's seeing someone then you can just back it up with i was only asking you as a friend but hopefully that wont happen.good luck
