You shouldn't have done anything with his friend. Do you really want to be the girl that guys compare notes about? If you did have sex with your ex, he definitely would have told his friend. His friend most likely has told your ex that he's gotten in your pants too. Guys talk... A LOT!!!! If you don't mind being their play thing... then go ahead. But, I hope you're using protection.
If you don't want to be their "whore", you should try keeping your legs closed. Or, find a guy that is not part of their clique.
