This is what happens when someone asks the price question. You get such a huge range of answers that it is not at all helpful.
Find a reputable artist and bring it in there and get a price that way. It is the only way to do it. A tip is always appreciated as well.
Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good.
I don't wish to appear snobbish but if you brought this piece into my studio, no one would do it as is - it needs a lot of work. It really kind of falls into that "category" described above as a cheap tattoo.

At the shop I went to in Texas for mine, that would run you around 400 dollars. However, do you really want a deceased music artist's name on your back? I like Sublime too, but think about whether you'll feel the same 20 years down the road with the music tattoo. I've seen people with Kurt Cobain tattoos and now they really regret it. Unless you were personal friends with Bradley Nowell, or one of the biggest fans they ever had, I'd just get the design and skip on the name.

I would guess $400 - $600 or more because I have a small one with a few different colors. It's about a 3 1/2" circle and it cost me $100 in North Carolina 10 years ago. I'm interested to see how much it would be. Good Luck!

Wow, great design. Right on. If you're looking for super cheap, place called Dago's in Texas could do that for around 200. Probably the cheapest place I've ever been too, and kind of in a sketchy area of Houston, but I've always been pleased with their work. Generally, it should cost around 500-700.

there is no "average" that tattoo would cost. it all depends on the artist. are you going to go to an inexperienced artist? it probably won't cost that much. are you going to go to an extremely talented artist who has been tattooing for years? it may cost a bit more. is it going to be that plain with just an outline? will there be color and shading? dimension? all of this comes into play when talking about a tattoo. why don't you go to a tattoo artist and ask them how much they would charge you to do it. there is no way that any of us could guess how much a random artist will charge to tattoo that on you.

Well, I go to Big Daddy Cadilla's tattoo shop and it cost you a $100 dollars an hour. But, I'm friends with the owner so no matter how long it goes, it's always just 100. But, all of my tattoos are under an hour.

Depending on where you go and if you want color that is how much it will cost. Color drives the price up, also if it is in a difficult area they tend to charge more. I have a tattoo of a knife w/color on my arm they charged me 100 dollars. I also have a tattoo on my chest w/color that ran me about 60 bucks
