should i stay with him?

Ok here's the deal. My boyfriend smokes and I honestly can not stand it and he knows this. He has been trying to quit, but sometimes i wonder if he's really trying. Even though i really love him, i know that i would never be able to live or completely be around a smoker full time. Should i give him an ultimatum, or what. Please help.

for the most part, i just want him to quit for himself & his health

First of all he needs to be considerate of his smoking. He needs to watch the way the wind is blowing as not to let the smoke go in your face. He needs to step outside when he wants to smoke. Then your need to be a little more understanding and help him to quit.

That's really a difficult situation.

Smoking is addictive as any other drug. Your whole body changes. I am a smoker, I have stopped many times. It is a physical and mental addiction.

If you really love him try and stay with him, ask him to smoke outside, there is nothing wrong with that request.

Also, do some research on quitting smoking, so you understand the addiction and the quitting process. It does not happen over night.

well u met him when he smoked yes? he might think an ultimatum is unfair because u met him when he was a smoker. im a non smoker and i also hate smokers but i also know many people who have found it really really hard to stop~!

You should love him for him...this includes loving him for his faults. If you feel the need to give him an ultimatum then you should leave him because it's not fair to him. You shouldn't ever be in a relationship with someone who you would only stay with IF they change.
