Despite being a semi-automatic and only having an 8-round clip the M1 Garand was a far superior weapon. I believe it was Eisenhower who said "... the M1 (Garand) rifle helped us win the war."
During the Korean War the North Koreans would often listen for the ping from an M1 clip being ejected, then rush the shooters position. The infantrymen caught on to this and would carry an empty clip. They'd toss the clip and shoot the charging enemy.

The most efficient of your list is the Kar98K. The M1 carbine wasn't much, and wasn't designed for much. The Carcano in 6.5 was too light a caliber, and the larger caliber didn't quite get out in significant numbers. The M1 Garand, being a semi-auto, encouraged a degree of spray-and-pray (in some military circumstances completely appropriately). So the 98 wins by default, though if I were to choose one, I'd much rather go to war with the Garand.
This is really something of an update of the WW I thing about the British having the best battle rifle (SMLE, which you really should have put in your list, along with the Mosin-Nagant), the Germans having the best hunting rifle, and the Americans having the best target rifle (the '03) of that war.

K98k. It works in the sand. Pretty reliable (I own several.) For fire power the M1 but it performs poorly is sand or dusty enviroments. I have a universal carbine and I don't like it. I'd take a Garand over it any day.

General George S. Patton once said that the M1 Garand was the greatest rifle ever created. I would have to agree with him. He was a smart man.

The m1 Garand made by springfield was the best and most effective. In fact they are still making them today unchanged in anyway. The shoot under any condition and are accurate. Great caliber and built to last.

In terms of gucci rifles the Lee Enfield is considered by many to be exceptional. In WW2 many troops vied to get a SMLE (short magazine lee enfield) No.2 that was the standard issue weapon of WW1. The end of WW2 saw the introduction of the No.4 which was the standard British sniper rifle until the late 1980s. Don't know how obsolete .303 is now, but they seem happy to engage any large game with it in Africa!

Efficient ? I'd have to pick the Garand... simple to use, highest rate of fire, and (thanks to the home-front) plentiful ammo to use.
I have two, and two each of the Kar98 and Mosin-Nagant... all fire well, and are accurate... but damn I'll take semi-auto anyday !!
