i hope charro is infertile.

anyway, have a welcome to the family party, even though they are a part of the family already the boys will enjoy celebrating their "official" day. make a keepsake where all the guests can write something for the boys welcoming them to the family and how they are happy there are finally official members, or a moment they remember about the boys and how they look forward to being able to watch them grow and mature. the boys can open these at a later date when they can understand them better. make it like you would any party, gifts are good since they're 4, but have something that will help commemorate this very special day.

What a great idea. I think a family get together would be great. Unfortunately, it is still winter so that put a damper on some things but there isn't anything that says it still can't be a really cool time. Why don't you, your son and your husband all put ideas in a hat and then draw a certain number of ideas out and whatever it ends up as, that is what you do. You could end up with some really crazy combination. Since there are no preconceived ideas of what an adoption party should be, you guys can make it whatever you guys want. If you want supplies I'm sure if you google "adoption party" or "adoption supplies" you will come up with a company somewhere that has those supplies. Congrats and have fun!!!!

Do something almost like a birthday party. Have everyone bring gifts for the boys, like clothes, toys, or undies/socks. This way they can get acquainted with the family and still be the center of attention. If they were in foster care then they had to of been not cared for by their biological family if they even know them. So just throw a party as if it were their birthday. Congratulations on the new addition to the family.

First of all let me say congrats to your friend...

Second...to charro c ! You have no clue of what the flip you are talking about! It takes people (special) people to take in other children who have been abused, raped, exposed to drugs, alcohol...beaten...etc and love them like they are their own children. If you think raising kids is hard enough...try doing it with Case workers, GAL's, CASA and the state involved in EVERYTHING you do with this child. Your response is both grotesque and irritating to the extreme. Why don't you do some research on the matter before writing something like that!

Sorry, as for the party idea! We are about to go through the same thing and we are having a welcome to the family party! Pinata's, cake...games (pin the tale on the case worker)...etc! Our's is 5 and he can't wait for the party!
