Find a picture of a black, cancerous lung on the internet and print it out. Then give it to her and say "This is what you are doing to yourself. I love you too much, please can you try and stop!"

For you to help your mother quit smoking, she has to want to quit. Because nicotine is addictive, quitting can be difficult. But you can suggest some things that may help her in the meantime. Just knowing that she has your support can make her more likely to succeed. Offer to help her devise a plan for quitting — this might mean choosing a stop date, encouraging her to speak to her doctor about a nicotine replacement, helping her to stay focused once she stops, and figuring out a good way to reward herself when she reaches different points.
It can be helpful to have several smaller goals to work toward — such as 2 weeks, 1 month, and 2 months without smoking. You can also help your mother by avoiding things that previously have triggered her to smoke. Remind her (without nagging or preaching) of the benefits of quitting, including all the money she'll be able to save. And remember that ultimately she has to decide whether she's ready to quit — but your support and encouragement can make a difference.
These strategies can help her quit, too:
She must throw away her cigarettes — all of her cigarettes.
She have to wash all her clothes: Get rid of the smell of cigarettes as much as she can by washing all her clothes.
She have to think about her triggers. She is probably aware of the situations when she tends to smoke, such as after meals...
She have to keep herself busy.
She have to use a nicotine replacement if she needs to.
In the end I think she must reward herself. As everybody already knows, quitting smoking isn't easy. So she I think she have to give herself a well-deserved reward!!
I hope my answer help you and your mother.

you know what?I am a mother and I smoke and if my daughter came to me and told me what you just said, I would run right out and buy me a patch, some nicorett gum and anything else that would help me to stop smoking. Oh and hon, maybe go to her and tell her this and one more thing. Throw in a "I love you mom" That will difenitly get her running to the drug store. Good Luck sweetie you sure sound like a good kid!!

If I were your mother and you told me how you felt, I would quit. But I am not your mother and in the end it is her decision. Just remember, smoking is an addiction and it is a hard habit to shake. If she should decide to quit, she will need a lot of support and encouragement. Good luck.

Tell your mom that you love her very much. She can try the patch to quit smoking. Tell her I don't want to see her die before I do. Support her in the decision she makes to quit smoking.
It took my mom awhile to quit smoking when she did through taking the patch she felt better about herself and healthier.
