ok, so Im an 18 yearold girl and Im starting a young girls group at my church, there are 4 girls, they are all freshmen in Highschool. The group is going to be about relationships, growing up, coping with lifes issues, peer pressure, you know, those kinds of things, with somewhat of a christian basis. I dont want it to be all bible lessons but the material should tie in to God somehow. anyway, I would love it if any of you know any good websites to get information and material to help me out with that, or even if you have some good ideas yourself, I want the group to be fun and different and I want them to learn from it at the same time, Im usually good at these things but I want my first lesson to be good so they'll be as excited about the group as I am. :] thank you very much!

The Life Center teaches Abstinence Classes and basic life-skills and practical knowledge. Write them and maybe they have some material they could send. I don't have phone or email - Try www.pbwrc.org - It's possible to be abstinent and proud of it.

The Word of God is more powerful than anything else you can give them. May the Lord Bless you for doing this.

First off, if you are 18 and the other girls are 14-15 then you better have a lot of respect from those girls or they won't listen to you long enough for you to even teach a lesson. As far as a course on relationships though, you could look at family.org to see what they have to offer. There is a lot of information about those kinds of issues, but not necessarily in the form of teaching material. Also, you could look at gotquestions.org that site also has information, but not really in the form of lessons. You will probably have to make a lesson out of the information you find and decide to use by yourself.

Ok! this exciting! So you are starting a bible study. The first thing I would talk about in the study is accountability. See if they can pair up to hold each other accountable for things during the week. Then, I would move on to talking about who God is and about Godly relationships. visit www.iambeautiful.com to talk about things based on personal issues they may be coping with at this age. check out this website: www.lifewaystores.com/lwstore/product.asp?isbn=0805430539 - 53k

I would instill the idea that they should feel good most of the time. I think this is overlooked to often and as a result there are too many people who are unhappy and not doing anything about it. Additionally people are doing things that make other people unhappy because they are insensitive to this in themselves.

I would cover the idea of punishment, the revenge/getting even component and the corrective component. What role does it serve in social justice. "If your daughter poked your son in the eye would you have your son poke your daughter back?" Jesus deprecated and eye for an eye, the passage is difficult to understand.

The whole subject of escalation is good. I would teach about being tested and weakness. How we are convicted by our actions and not our weaknesses.

Go through the book stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss. It is written as a journal and is the type of book you just can't put down. It is designed for young women who desire to be more godly yet it is far from dull but rather exciting. You can get it now for less than 7 dollars from the site below.

God is imaginary. Try to explain to them that their carnal desires have been honed by millions of years of evolution, not for their benefit, but to make them make babies. If they have a realistic view of this life issue, they will be empowered to make responsible descisions about it. Best not to lie about a made up God. He's only one of thousands that people concocted.
