I don't know about the legality of it, but if you apply for a council house,in the UK you get extra points if your kids are over 11 and of the opposite sex. They shouldn't be sharing a room after that age.

I do not think there is an age limit. my brother and sister share a room. my brother is 13 and sister is 7. times are hard for my family right now, we live in a very small 3 bedroom house with 6 people. of corse my parents get a room, my older brother and I get a room, and my younger siblings share. my bedroom is cramped with just me and my older brother, we tried to have 3 kids sleeping in there and it was really bad. so right now this works. my olderbrother and I will be going off to college in the next 2 years so my younger bro will move into my room when ether me or my brother go to college...
they do have bunk beds so they are not sleeping together

legally a boy and girl cannot share a room if one or both is over 5, unless they are twins (dont ask me why) when i think the age is then 9/10. however they dont realy inforce these rules unless you are living in council accomodation. personally i say just leave them sharing a room for as long as they are happy with.

I don't think there is a legal age limit, it's just what you think is proper. But if you can't afford a place with extra bedrooms, then I guess they have to share. They can change clothing in the bathroom right?

I hope not or my husband and I are in trouble! j/k
I think that if one of them comes to you and asks then you should move them into a new room. My bro and sis shared a room until they were 8 & 6.

They are brother and sister, so it should be ok for a long time, but personally I wouldn't do it past 7 knowing my kids. They can't even stand to be IN the same room with each other, much less sharing a room!!! Of course they are older now, but I think 7 would've been pushing it with my kids!!

I think it's 11, but it probably depends where you live (I'm in England). How would anyone know they were sharing a room illegaly anyway?
