WoW! I have a daughter 27 too. She works at a big bank in the trust office so I went to my local store and bought her a beautiful cake with her name on it, balloons, a birthday girl button with ribbons, flowers and a card and a big present and I showed up in her office with all of her work mates standing around watching.
I gave her a big hug and kiss and said Happy Birthday, I love you! and then I just took off! She was so surprised! And all her buddies know her Momma loves her!!!

I definitely agree with a suprise birthday party with all her friends. I was thrown one for my 30th and it was the only time to this day that all my friends and family were in the same room. That is something that I will never forget...I still think about it to this day! And for the other "dirty minds" out there...a hot male stripper (minus certain family members of course) would be a pretty memorable moment for her. The gift that keeps on giving! (lol) Not to mention some nice eye candy for you! Double Whammy!

speaking as a 27 year old daughter, I would love a nice night out, and maybe a quick trip to the casino after.

What does she like? An impromptu party with all her closest friends is nice. Is she a sports fan take her to the next big game. A really nice all expense paid trip. A day at the spa, hire someone to clean and reorganize her home.

Go to ebay and type in the year she was born for a search. You can find lots of cool stuff from the year she was born. My mom got me a decorative Christmas plate from the year I was born a couple years ago for Christmas and it's one of the most special gifts I've ever gotten.

I am 27...
I would love a pampering day. (I'm also a mom, so this would be extra nice!) Spa, new hair cut, etc.
Also, something that would be special...find a beautiful locket and put a picture of you and her in it. THAT would mean more to me than anything I think. (My mom and I are super close)

Depends if you are mom or dad. You could set a day at the spa with a message, facials, pedicures and manicures if you are mom and go with her and reserve 2 spots to get it all done together.
Dad......hmmmmm. horseback riding.

Take her out to spa, go shopping, go out for a fancy dinner, or go to a sweet concert that she likes.
