Because the media and Hollywood dictate peoples points of views on whats attractive. It's psychological. I can't stand the skinny look. It looks unhealthy to me. I find women who are pleasantly plump (curvy) very attractive. However, according to Hollywood that person would be considered horrendously fat or something. I believe in exercise and eating right, but that does not translate into anorexia. The anorexic look is disgusting. Makes me want to give those girls some greasy fried chicken and biscuits or something. Anyway, I believe its all psychological.

Women want to be fit, first of all, because they want to look nice. They are always dieting because of "the look" that everyone in the world has. Women today think they need to be extremely skinny in order to be beautiful. This isn't true, because being that skinny makes someone look sick! But yeah, they diet because most men want a woman that is skinny and not every woman out there is skinny.

Everyone has a unique rate of metabolism. Some people have a MUCH harder time losing weight and maintaining healthy weight than others. When thin people question this, those who struggle with weight issues feel insulted. It is NOT as simple as eating less and exercising for everyone. That being said, Americans have some very unhealthy habits that contribute to obesity. Portion sizes are too large, recreational activities are too sedentary, and we work too many hours at desk jobs. Americans need to look to Europe and Japan for examples of a healthy work-life balance that includes physical activity on a daily basis.

OMG my boyfriend posted a question on here!!! LOL!

We diet b/c no matter how good looking we are, we are never good looking enough-- women have a complex, atleast most of us--- and we want to be perfect!! Wouldn't you rather a healthy lean woman verses an overweight one?? Well, if not- Good for you, cuz 98% of the men out there want a thin beautiful woman that can cook, clean, make money and give them kids---

because men want trophy girlfriends and wives and if your slightly heavier it's not going to cut it although it's being more accepted to look a certain way, society has a long way to go.

Basically women feel that they need to co-exist with men and get married and have babies to have a fulfilling life and unfortunately if 95% of the women on the planet don't conform to the images that say your worthy if you look like this more than likely she probably will have a much harder time getting a strong partner to copulate and have babies with lol!

Because women always want to look perfect. If they are not 2 fat, then they're too skinny. Its never right. So girls always look to be perfect, even though they know they will never be happy with themselves. So yeah...
