I've tried everthing for my c.t. --biofeedback, massage, accupressure, meditation, splints, etc., etc. I am thinking about surgery. I know surgery is no guarantee, but I found one of the top docs who does it, so I will give it a try. Question: Since I need it for both wrists, should I do one first, then the other, or both at once?

I needed both of mine done too and the Doctor suggested I do the worst one first, in some cases it relieves the other side as well, he explained it. So I got my right done 4-5 yrs ago and immediately my left got better. I have not had any problems since. Did yours not suggest this? Ask before doing both, because life is hard when both hands and wrists are wrapped up,(can't get them wet or hardly use them, youd also need someone to wipe your butt) unless you are a queen with many servents.

I've had the surgery, Don't be crazy, do one at a time. It isn't a bad procedure, but it takes time to get function in your hand. I agree with one of the other answers, you won't be able to eat, dress, shower, wipe your %%&*&. Try funtioning with boxing gloves on for a few hours and you'll get the idea. Even one hand out of commission is frustrating, and that's a good thing! You will work hard to recover function/ range of motion. Hey! Look! I'm even typing with all fingers!
