legal liability. Legal adults are responsible for themselves, minors have a parent or guardian that they should be with in the evening, or should at least know where they are (if they make the reservation for their traveling minor child). If something were to happen to a child alone in a hotel it would be the hotel's responsibility. Possibly 18, would be more reasonable because that's when you can be drafted for service, but you have to draw the line somewhere. It's what we use for drinking so, why not 21?

so if they have to press any kind of charges there is no excuse. at this age u can do everything from drinking to smoking...this way its all on u buddy!!

and who ever made this rule would probably say....
"no underage pregnancy or drinking in my hotel"
