I need to write an argument on the Pro and Con of our spending on defense (homeland, iraq, patriot, etc).

If you could give me specific websites or books to look into on the history of our spending that would be fantastic.

I am not really looking for opinions seeing as how I cannot use them in my essay. But I guess anything will help, so if you have maybe a unique idea or a way of thinking that few people would see, please do post (very confusing, sorry, not really sure how to put it)

thanks

Our military is technologically superior to any in the world and we need to keep funding it. Compared to China and India our military doesn't have the size needed to have a successful land invasion. To counter that we need to take control of the sea and the air. Also we should spend more in keeping GM and Ford around. When the United States goes to war those are the two companies who make the tanks and the trucks for the military. Also more should be spent on border patrol. Builing walls with posts and arming those people. However the military spending of the United States is countered by liberals and liberals in the media. When the media and liberals don't want amnesty granted to our troops and don't grant amnesty to the border patrols agents for shooting illegals or people they think might be terrorists all the spending serves no purpose
