Would we be a good match?

Question

I am a somewhat shy guy, but i get outhere and try things. There is a girl at my high school who i iused to be close with in middle school but for the past couple years we havent acknowledged or talked. Dont ask me why. BTW she is amazingly beatiful. She is more shy than i am. But lately she has clearly been making an effort to talk to me, and i have been talking back, but with our shy personalities it is tough to kepp things going. What should i do. Would going on a date be asking for akward situation?

Whats your advice. btw, were both 17.

well since you're both shy one of you will have to be the more outgoing one. I one of you will have to get you to try this or go here for a date or talk about this. it's usually easier for two shy people to talk from my experience because you feel more comfortable with that person. so maybe instead of going on a date try just hanging out as friends maybe. This is just so that you guys get to know each other better and you'll open up more. You need to find out things she likes and she needs to find out things that you like so you'll have something to talk about. it is hard but once you take the chance it will be worth it.good luck!!!

From what you say, the both of you seem well-suited for one another. It sounds as if she is struggling to make overtures toward you and is having to try to overcome the same shy feelings. If you are truly intersted in getting closer, work up the nerve and make a suggestion that you meet perhaps over lunch soon...If she agrees...then set the date, time, and place on the spot. When you are together, talk about her and what she likes. Take baby steps like that and soon you will have this issue resolved. Good Luck!
