In addition to the obvious, (mints, almonds, chocolate coins) I would sugggest to include wedding cookies, You can have them made to look like you wedding dress or cake. They can double up as party favours.
Also, mini-cheese cakes are so neat.
Have mini chinase take-out boxes (www.orientaltrading.com, AC Moores, etc) for your guests to pour in the m&m,s jellybeans or whatever you are having. Make sure that you have scoops to serve them.
Good luck

I'm also doing a candy buffet. I'm going to have all the candies red, gold, and chocolate. I'm going to place them in clear class cases/containers of different shapes and sizes. I will have stainless steel scoops for the guest to scoop candy into their containers. I will have a white table cloth on the table, and place some rose petals on the table. I think I'm just going to put a small banner that says Love Sweet Love and a picture us. Here are some pics that I got off the knot. Hope this helps.

get different size vases, tall vases, low candy dishes and deep bowls so there is variety in the display.
old time candy is always great cause it makes people naustalgic, like rock candy and taffy. Try this website for the candy
http://www.nostalgiccandy.com/
get grosgrame (cant spell that right) ribbon and secure it on the inside of the candy holder, hang it over the edge and have a card that states what the candy is.
For saying I would just have a simple verse on a main card at the table rather then on each candy holder

A candy buffet? Hmmm...I've never heard of that! Interesting! Red hots for your red hot love for each other. Conversation hearts because they say lots of cute mushy stuff (and you can use the boxes as photo frames, a small pic will slide right into the window of the box!) chocolate coins to wish you good fortune, sweet and sour candy, because life gives both sweet and sour times. And you can get those M&M's made with your wedding info on them. Those are neat!

Wow, I've never heard of a candy buffet but it sounds fun.
You can get M&Ms in custom colors with custom sayings on them. I've noticed ads in magazines lately that have a code to use when ordering so you get an extra bag free when you order.

I never heard of that, but with Valentine's Day right around the corner, there are lots of "love" related candies that might be appropriate for a candy buffet...

yumm...is this my cousin? b/c im going to her wedding soon and that would be great!
anyhow, what are your colors for you wedding-try to stay within that theme....i like the ideas of posting some sayings-go online or to the book store look up some poetry or fun quotes frame them in picture frame. i would do some multilevels to your buffet for some interest and see through containers would capture everyone's eye and make them want to come and look. you should look online to for some more ideas.

You could use some basic favorites, such as bonbons, m&ms in your wedding colors, mints, etc... Presentation is important, so you could use large glass bowls, vases and offer guests mini party bags or boxes for their loot.

Ice cream to put the candy on would be awsome too so if people had issues with that much sugar that could take it easy.
