The Grand Ol' State of S.C.(my HOME) has nothing to do with it. It's BEEN that way for YEARS!
It's all on your DUMB A*S*S hubby(probably a YANKEE, to boot)! Radar detectors are ILLEGAL in about EVERY state in the U.S.(and probably every province in Canada, as well)!
He just had the stupidity to depend on one in trying to violate the LAW and got caught TWICE! TOO F*ing BAD.
If you can't pay the fine, don't do the CRIME! ! ! !

Radar detectors aren't legal in most commerical vehicles especially all 18 wheelers

If he wants a radar detector that the cop would not be able to detect he should just get a BEL STi..The worlds first all band undetectable radar detector

Grizzly....you need to go back to your on-line college classes in legality. It IS illegal in Commercial Vehicles to have a radar detector. You are, however, are permitted in some states to possess a radar detector in a personal vehicle. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, DUMB ***!!!

commercial vehicles fall under the federal regulations. The commercial vehicle regs say that radar detectors are prohibited in commercial vehicles.
It is not just south carolina, it applies in all states when operating a commercial vehicle.

Jeez, the guy from SC took great offense at your question... where is the southern hospitality????? Anyway, they have enforced that for a long time, you're lucky he didn't get caught here in NY! Lot more money.... :)

Truckers need to go the speed limit, not try to beat the system.
