Its a myth that it will stay in your stomach for seven years. It might cause a little wear on your digestive system, so don't do it often, but it'll make it through along with roughage (crap) if the acids in your stomach don't dissolve it first.

Its an old urban myth. Its perfectly harmless to swallow gum - the human stomach can digest metal given time, it has NO problem with gum. That's in moderation of course. I suppose if you swallowed several dozen pieces (probably more like 100+), it COULD fill the stomach so much that the digestive system could not cope. In which case your body would probably try to vomit it out. And i would not like to have a fist-sized lump of gum being forced back up my throat by the vomit reaction. That WOULD do some damage!

You aren't supposed to swallow gum because it is made of rubber. Also your body can not digest it.

I have known many people who have swallowed gum...even on a regular basis. This is just another old wives tale. At most I would imagine all it would give you is a nasty tummy ache- Personally I think that the practice of gum chewing is disgusting.

It is not very easily digested therefore it cannot be broken down fully before you excrete it. It might stick someone inside you according to some of my friends however i dont think this is true. The is no harm really.

I have no idea, when i was younger my mother lied and told me gum stuck to your heart and could make you die. lol very brutal. Good question though, i'll stay tune to see the correct ans

Its because it doesn't digest so it'll come out the same condition as it went in . dont think it causes any damage though..
