No. HIV cannot be spread through saliva from gum. It wouldn't matter if 100 HIV positive people came and spat onto the wound in your foot, you still wouldn't get it. It can only be spread through bodily fluids such as blood and semen, not spit or dirty rain water. HIV can probably survive longer outside the body in the winter, but that would mean it'd survive for about 20 minutes. Listen, I don't mean to be harsh, but that's a bit ignorant. It's too bad that you're worried, but you are 100% fine. You don't have HIV, nor could you have caught it from this situation that you described. Good luck to you.

HIV cannot, in fact, survive a long time, in any temperature. As far as viruses go it's a pretty weak one. It can survive minutes, and hours at best without a host.
The situation you describe is so absolutely unlikely that I'm going to have to answer No.
First, saliva doesn't carry HIV, so the gum has no HIV on it. (Same situation as kissing someone with HIV- you cannot get it from kissing!!!)
Even IF the gum had the potential to carry HIV (say an HIV infected person had an actively bleeding mouth sore and the gum had blood on it) the HIV would have been destroyed within minutes of falling on the floor.
IF the gum actually carried HIV *and* it managed to live long enough for your scenario to take place, the virus would have been so diluted out by all the water on the floor that it is highly unlikely there would be enough virus left to infect you, even if some did manage to get through your shoe into your cut foot.
Buy yourself a new pair of shoes, call the janitor to clean up all the gum on the floor, and quit being paranoid.
;-)

Sure it is probably "possible"
But EXTREMELY improbable. First of all, it is VERY difficult to pass HIV through saliva.
Secondly, the gum would have to have been freshly spewed to the ground while it was raining. If the gum was there beforehand, then it is safe. The life expectancy of any virus in open air is about 20 minutes. Also the cold weather would not allow it to live any longer. Plus HIV virus requires a very specific cell receptor on the host cell in order to survive. (this is also why mosquitos cannot transmit HIV.) The host cells have a definite lifespan. There would not be any new host cells on the ground for the HIV to attach to.
There are other variables as well.
But in short. The entire universe would have to be properly aligned for this transmital to occur.

You should be more afraid of catching tetanus in those conditions. There aren't enough viruses in saliva to infect someone. You can get infected if you are cut with a sharp object that has already cut someone who is hiv positive,or if you have unprotected sex with someone who is hiv positive,Or if you share needles with someone who unbeknown to you is a carrier,to inject drugs. But you never pick them off the floor or on toilet seats,or on clothes nor do you catch it from the air because someone with hiv coughed or sneezed. So,relax and stop getting paranoid. The world out there is actually a more beautiful place than you're making out.
