I was IMing the guy I like, and he said "I do have some thoughts about u", and the he said "i have to figure them out on my own" and then i asked if they were bad and he said "it depends how u think of them". i am so confused. can anyone (especially guys) tell me what this might mean?

Look, Im no expert but this is what it sounds like to me...Hes thinking sexual thoughts of u,He just cant go out and tell u becuz he dont know how ull react to the situation.Thats why he said it depends on how u take them.To him the idea sounds good but hes just debating on how the idea would sound to u.Its a pretty confusing sign guys give to a girl when it comes to that,we jus dont wanna disrespect or make u all feel ackward. Thats my honest opinion on this matter.

Buy are they bad, he meant from different perspectives. He is basically saying he likes you, but he is beating around the bush probably! He does not know you like him. He wants to figure them out on his own because he is a little unsure right now, but he does think highly of you even if you remain a friend. Lastly, it depends on how you think of them from different perspectives. From your perspective, he cannot just come out for fear of rejection, and he thinks you may hate those feelings. From his perspective, he is probably edging toward asking you out.
Here is what I would do to trick him into making a move. Tell him you like him! Just flat out tell him. If he responds unfavorably over IM then say as a friend, but if he responds favorably, he will be more open, and it will be ON!! Good luck!

E-mail and IM are difficult media to try to express ones feelings through. You miss so much of the nonverbal cues of voice and body language. Many times the message is completely open to viewers current mood.
Without seeing the whole conversation, something I highly recommend *against* posting BTW, it is hard to give you an opinion. It looks to me as if either he is as confused as you are about this *or* he is being playful.
Here is another POV for you. Right now while you are trying to figure out what he meant, you are running around chasing your tail trying to figure out the cryptic things that he has laid on you.
My recommendation is simply forget about it. If he has questions, let him ask. If he wants to figure it out, let him. ***DO NOT LET HIM PUT YOU IN THE POSITION OF JUSTIFYING YOURSELF*** Sorry for the caps, but it is a message that you should not miss. No one person, especially before there is a relationship, is worth jumping through hoops for on cryptic half thought out IMs.

sure, he's trying to think about you, taking his time. maybe there is some issues, maybe he's into sports and this will take a lot of his time up. But just don't sit around for him. He might just be wondering if another girl is going to ask him out too. Let him know that you don't wait around for guys, and if a guy really wants to have you he needs to know how he feels.

give him some space...and don't try to keep asking him where he's at in the process of finding out. the less interested you seem to be in him, the more he'll come after you. he might have had some sexual thoughts of you, maybe? or like kissing you or something. he's not ready to disclose, but just give him space and time. i think he's into you...but all i'm going by is what u wrote above.

i think that you should let time pass. You should let him get his thoughts out, don't call him or anything like that, let him do that. That's pretty much what also happens with girls; i mean we get frustrated and the like, but it's better for us to be stronger, since that's in a way how you control people, by not giving them what it is that they want. Sad, but true nontheless....
