There is a very good chance that the world (not just the U.S) will be involved again with North Korean aggression. Just as in 1950, when North attacked South Korea, North Korea will likely attack a neighbor, either S. Korea or Japan.
I think that it won't be just North Korea, but include Iran, Venezuela, possibly Cuba, and likely other third world countries run by dim-wit dictators.
In North Korea, the main problem is their insane leader, Kim Young-Ill, who through ruthless oppression has caused mass suffering of his country and is driving his country to war. Many Nations have tried to bargain and discuss the issues of the Korean peninsula, but it’s impossible to have a dialog with a mad-man with disillusions of grandeur and a proven history of dishonest negotiations.
North Korean’s possession of Nuclear weapons just makes war more likely; No Nation wants to wait till N. Korea can strike their territory. But, that said, war with North Korea will be viscous and violent. Besides the Nuclear weapons, North has one of the largest Militaries in the world, much larger then the U.S.
In the first Korean War, almost the entire North Korea was liberated by allied forces, but China sent waves of Soldier over the border, overwhelming the United Nations Forces with numerical superiority. This time, China is fed up with N. Korea and will not side with the pitiful regime that runs the North.
I have lived in South Korea and there are many that want to end the suffering in the North and reunited the country as a unified Korea. Hopefully it can be done peaceful, but I think it’s unlikely, unless the People of North Korea end their repressive government themselves.

Well technically the U.S. does not have to go to war with North Korea because we are still at war with them. An armistice was declared in July 1953 but no peace treaty was ever signed.
The US will not escalate to armed conflict for 2 reasons:
1) US forces in the DMZ, who would be most vulnerable amount to 37,000 troops (at last check in 2004. The number was to be reduced by 1/3 to support the war in Iraq), while North Korea has an army of approximately 1.8 million troops with a reserve force of 4.7 million troops.
2) The US since Vietnam only attacks countries they know they can beat.
3) North Korea apparently has gone nuclear and Kim Jong-il is not the sharpest pencil in the box and can stir up trouble we cannot deal with right now.

Intill? That isn't even a word! Get an education, you will go a lot farther in life if you do. 1. All wars kill civilians, which is why many people are against war to begin with. 2. North Korea has been making threats for a long time. 3. It very well could start WW3, but we're not the ones making threats and starting it, are we? And where is the question?

Highly unlikely, unless there's a pre-emptive strike by NorKor against the south. The US 2nd ID will not be enough to stop the tidal wave....only tactical nukes will equalize the situation. But like i said, that scenario is highly unlikely.

No, since we know for a fact that they have a nuclear weapon and would use it in the event of an attack. This matter will be solved diplomatically because of such, and because we're still a little sore over the last time we had our military in korea.
