Teresa should leave! Dale Sr. made that company for Dale Jr and his brother and sisters. She's makin a rough place to work. Who wants to work with someone thats never at the track to support the drivers or even talk to the driver to keep them? If Teresa had her way, Jr wouldnt even be there. They said it best in the media, without Jr, DEI is just a museum!

The company in question is currently in the hands of Theresa Earnhardt. This is likely as it should be for now. Apparently Dale Sr. had no provisions in his will for Junior getting a stake in the company. Having said that, it is pretty clear even to the casual observer that Junior IS DEI. If he chooses to sign with another race team, I wonder how long DEI might survive without him. Certainly Budweiser and their big $$$ will follow him wherever he goes and right now the rest of the stable at DEI is not looking strong enough to step up and fill the void that would be created by Junior leaving. It's a tough deal for Theresa, but I'm inclined to think she might be better off to maintain almost half of a strong company than all of a weak one.

Everyone seems to over look the fact that Teresa was the driving force behind the formation of DEI. Dale Sr. didn't have the financial security offered by DEI until he let Teresa handle the money. DEI is car dealerships, restaurants, farms and real estate. The racing is just a part of DEI.

I'm not a Jr fan at all, and used to think he was a stuck up little brat, but he's matured a lot and gotten some humility in him, and I think he's turning into a great driver.
As far as DEI, his stepmom needs to move aside. She rarely makes track appearances and seems to want little to do with the team other than a paycheck. Since Jr is still racing and it was his dad's company, and since he's the most popular driver, he should own majority of DEI.
I'd be a little pissy too if my dad's company went to my stepmom who hates me and doesn't even care about the team.

Owning and managing a team is a full time job . Junior will end up with the company in time. Yes he needs to fight to protect any and all ownership rights to his name and likeness, and I think he should have a definite say in the directions that the company is heading. But owning and operating a team demands a lot of time and energy. Right now he needs to focus on his racing performance.
Dale Sr. raced for many years with RCR before he founded DEI, which gave him the knowledge and experience necessary to enter the waters of team ownership.
Junior was fortunate to have such a talented and resourceful father, enabling him to step into the big leagues with support and enthusiasm.
While Junior has shown that he is a talented driver, and one to be reckoned with, he has yet to win a championship. The reasons for his failure to do so are many and not necessarily his fault. However the proof is in the pudding, as the saying goes.
Teresa's team involvement was behind the scenes before Sr's death, and with all that has gone on following his demise, I think that she's certainly had her hands full, and done as well as can be expected of someone so close to the tragedy, (she was his wife after all, lets not forget that) in stepping up and taking the reins of such a large and high profile team, it's difficult to say whether or not someone else might have any more success in improving the team.
With all the rule changes NASCAR has gone through, all teams are having to adapt as well, and based on performance DEI has managed to keep Junior competitive. It's not like he's struggling in the top 30 in points each season

Im certain Hendrick may like it, although the 25 motor vehicle has traditionally, because Tim Richmond's lack of existence, been especially a lot the entire season R&D motor vehicle for the crew. in basic terms ask Ken Schrader, Jerry Nadeau, Joe Nemechek, Ricky Craven, Wally Dallenbach, Brian Vickers (quite), although, with a driver like Dale Jr, Hendrick may get killed by technique of the followers if he placed Jr. in what's especially a lot what I reported, a R&D motor vehicle. Joe Gibbs, and Richard Childress are good opportunities, as both communities have room for a million extra motor vehicle less than NASCAR guidelines, and inspite of if Gibbs did not prefer to escalate to a 4th motor vehicle, Yeley may have yet another undesirable three hundred and sixty 5 days back, Gibbs can kick him out, and provide Dale Jr. the 18. RCR's 3 drivers are especially shield, so for RCR, it should be enlargement to a 4th motor vehicle. except a curveball is thrown, I belive the best 3 communities are Joe Gibbs, Richard Childress, and Jr making his Busch crew a Cup crew, which, inspite of if he had help from both RCR, JGR, or Hendrick, i imagine can be a significant mistake (as obvious from Brett and Geoff Bodine, bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd, and presently, Michael Waltrip), in my view, if Jr ran his personal crew for Cup.

I think Bonkrr is right. Without Junior there is no DEI. Do you know how much merchandising money they would lose if he left?
But, I have a question. Budweiser sponsors the # 8 car right, not actually Dale Jr. So, they would have to stick to the car even if he left right? At least as long as their contract is for. If anyone knows the rules on this please let me know.
I think Dale Jr. will go to RCR, so he can drive the # 3. I don't personally think he deserves to, but I know his fans would love it.

If my Dad owned a company that I worked for that featured our last name as the name of the company, I would fight for ownership. I would not expect to be handed the company. But I would at least offer to buy the majority share. I think Jr. should keep stating his case in front of the media, because I guarantee that 95% of his fans want him to own DEI.

I am sure Dale Sr. spelled out how he wanted his company to be handled after his death. Jr. should respect whatever that decision was.
