My best friend is getting married next month and the thought of giving her cash doesn't really interest me. I would like to give her something more personal...I already got her champagne glasses (personally etched with ribbons and flowers to sit at her sweetheart table during the reception) but now I need something for the actual big day...

what i did for my firends wedding was gathered all her photos, fromt he engagemnet, rehersals, wedding and honey moon (with her help of course) and layed them out ina book for her, the magazine style ones that you can get a kodak, very affordable and very personal. She will have so many gifts to open most likely she would really appreicate getting something later after all the gifts are gone.

If you want to get them something else that is personalized with intitals or names some really nice plush bathrobes or towels would be really nice. If you want to get them something that is personalized on a personal level then get them something that you know that they would enjoy together and something that wouldn't ask for on a registry.

I went to a wedding October, my friends asked for all the typical wedding stuff for their house and all that, but i didnt want to get them anything like that. I live in a mountain community and carved bears are really popular here. She had said a couple of times how cute she thought that they were because their were people in her little West Texas neighboorhood who had them. SO that is is what I brought them. It was her favorite gift. I burned the wedding date in the bottom and mine and my son names burned in the bottom.

they're already going to have engraved champagne flutes for his or her toast, maximum couples try this throughout improve and get high priced crystal. ask the bride or bridesmaids or her mom the place she's registered. risk is she's already picked out glasses, plates, linens, etc so purely get her some thing from her registry or a recent card. I constantly do present taking part in cards for wedding ceremony presents simply by fact i do unlike bringing a huge present to the marriage. present taking part in cards are extra transportable. I supply a genuine present on the bathe simply by fact she will sit down there and open it.

One of the nicest things we got was our ring pillow. My mom's supervisor cross stitched a design with our names and the wedding date on the top in our wedding colors. Many craft stores will have cross stitch supplies and patterns. If you can count you can cross stitch. It's not a difficult hobby (just addictive!)

You could also write a poem and have it printed on pretty paper and mounted in a frame.

For my sister's shower, I asked guests to write words of wisdom about marriage or relationships on scrap book paper that I had cut into 4X6 pieces. I then arranged the words of wisdom throughout an album I put together of pictures from her shower.

I'm still in the process of putting together my sister's wedding quilt. She had guests sign quilt blocks instead of a guest book. The blocks will be alternated with bocks that have photos from the wedding on them.

I found these really cool cutting boards that you can have the name
of the person your giving the cutting board to cut out of the wood.
Still trying to decide what I'll have put on the cutting board though...
I'm thinking either names or perhaps a short saying.

Either way I love these!!!

my mom always gets this item for all weddings she goes to. She gets them personalized glass ornaments with their names and wedding date. It will be something they can put on their tree every year and remember their wedding date. She also got one for my wedding...and I put it on one of those ornament holders so I can put it out all year long. Also for my wedding...my cousins got my husband and I a glass bell that was personalized. (we have a glass shop near where we live...maybe there is something like that near where you live...it normally only takes them a week to make and probably is under $20? depending on the shop.

Couples tend to like the "monogrammed" blankets or you can get them the silver personalized clocks. Just check with some wedding sites they have great gifts.

something different but definately personalized that you could give as a gift is if you ask the bride what her and her groom's first dance at thier wedding will be, get the c.d.(a single of it if possible) and frame it with thier names and wedding date... or if you do that you could wait to give it to them til after they come back from thier honeymoon and frame a picture of them dancing to that song at thier wedding with the c.d. in the frame :)
