I understand there's all this carbonation, but why does it seem to actually HURT the more you chug? What, scientifically, is happening in my mouth that makes me have to pause before I continue to enjoy that refreshing coca-cola?

I'm not sure.. I do know that soda bothers more when you take the first sip because of all the carbonation.... I've chugged soda before and it didnt hurt too much.. but then again that wa sprobably because the soda was beginning to turn flat...

Who said that I can't? I have chugged soda before, and my belch afterwards may cause an earthquake, but nonetheless, I have chugged soda.
